Limited sales have officially begun for the new 2023 Genesis GV60 electric compact crossover, which shares its E-GMP platform and various powertrains with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, while bringing a more luxurious interior.

Despite earlier indications that a base rear-wheel-drive version might be available, Genesis says the GV60 will be offered in only two dual-motor all-wheel-drive trim levels – Premium AWD and Performance AWD. U.S. sales will initially be limited to California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. The company invites interested buyers to contact their retailers for more availability. Both models feature a 77.4 kWh battery with an estimated range of 248 miles (premium) or 235 miles (performance).

The well-equipped Advanced makes 314 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque and starts at $59,980. For that cost, you get standard 20-inch wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, a premium Bang & Olufsen stereo, and a host of active safety tech. Performance upped the ante to $68,980 and 429 horsepower, while adding 21-inch wheels, adaptive dampers, firmer front brakes, nappa leather upholstery and a Boost mode that temporarily boosts power to 483 horsepower.

Both variants of the GV60 include Genesis’ new Crystal Sphere shift mechanism on the center stack, as well as facial recognition and fingerprint scanning technology for keyless vehicle access. Speaking of which, Performance models also add the brand’s next-generation Digital Key 2, which syncs with select smart devices and automatically unlocks the vehicle as you approach.

All GV60 buyers will receive three years of free 30-minute charging at Electrify America stations. This is in addition to the brand’s Connected Care services for automatic collision notification, roadside assistance and real-time updates, which will come standard on the GV60 and all 2023 Genesis models without expiration. .
